Join us as we support National Breast Cancer Awareness month! For the month of October, Duluth Pack will donate 5% of the retail price for every pink Duluth Pack product sold on our website and in our retail store (365 Canal Park Drive). All proceeds will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor, Janelle Hail. NBCF’s mission is to save lives through early detection and to provide mammograms for those in need. This mission includes increasing awareness through education, providing diagnostic breast care services for those in need, and providing nurturing support services.

In June of 1991, we opened our first “hole-in-the-wall” retail store in Duluth’s Canal Park, a revitalized warehouse district on the waterfront. Within a few years, we quickly expanded three times and finally built our 5000 square-foot flagship store a few doors down in April of 1998, which is where we are today.
Stopping by our retail store is not just about the shopping, it’s about the experience! We have 2 levels packed full of merchandise and so much to see, smell, touch, and even taste. Here is just a small sampling of some things you can expect to see when you visit……
Of course, you’ll find our complete line of Duluth Pack backpacks and bags!
Along with camping supplies…..
……and lots of clothing!
We’ve got Stormy Kromer, Merrell, Woolrich, and The North Face, just to name a few……
You can get fitted for a paddle……
….take a closer look at a Gransfors axe (be careful – they’re sharp!)…..
…..and see how these Magnesium Fire Starters work!
Be sure to say “hello” to our critters atop the cabin….
….and have a seat next to our fireplace while you peruse our unique library!
So, the next time you’re in our neck of the woods, make sure you stop by for a visit…
…we’d love to see you!
Yup, it’s that time of the year… the Great Minnesota Get Together! Over the course of 12 Days (August 23rd – September 3rd, 2012) more than 1.7 million people will attend the Minnesota State Fair, and hopefully all of them will stop by the Duluth Pack booth in the Dairy Building (corner of Judson Ave and Underwood St) where we will have a variety of bags on display and available for purchase.
We love to make the trip down each year to share our story, our rich history, and continue to amaze people with the fact that our products are still manufactured right here in Duluth, Minnesota, and have been for 130 years. Each bag is hand sewn, hand riveted, and hand signed….and on top of all that, we offer a Lifetime Guarantee on our craftsmanship and hardware.
So, grab a meal-on-a-stick and swing by to see us. While you’re in the Dairy Building, you can also grab some ice cream and check out the famous Butter Heads. We look forward to meeting our friends and fans, hearing your amazing tales of adventures with Duluth Packs, and making new friends!
Year after year, parents spend money on brand new backpacks that might last a few months. We’ve managed to make a backpack that will last their whole school career and more. But don’t just take our word for it….here’s what a few of our satisfied customers had to say:
“I received this (in navy blue) as a gift over 10 years ago. It is still in excellent condition after being my primary book bag through both college and grad school (and a lot of traveling). It’s been through a lot but remains completely in tact and the color hasn’t faded either.” ~Kristen
“We were tired of buying new backpacks for our kids…there were always broken zippers, not big enough packs and just wearing out all the time. We took the kids to Duluth Pack and let them pick their colors and they have had them ever since. Actually we had to get a larger one as our daughter hit high school. It’s off to college with her in the fall! Thanks for a great product!” ~dkstebe
“I was sick and tired of replacing both of our kids school packs every year. Zippers were broken on all of the old style cheap ones within three months. I decided to spend a little more and get them good ones. 5 years later and they are still like new. A little cleaning now and then but like new. Bullet proof zippers, couldn’t break them if you tried. GREAT PRODUCT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND MAKING THEM IN USA.” ~Tom
“I purchased this back pack for my daughter for elementary school 12 years ago. After the abuse it took on the bus, the playground, in the snow, rain and mud… it still looks good and is used almost daily. Another fantastic item from Duluth Pack.” ~lyndbrd
“12 years ago my parents became tired of purchasing a new backpack for me each school year as each became destroyed with daily use. A friend lent us the Duluth Pack catalog and we haven’t looked back since! This backpack has accompanied me from fifth grade through a Master’s degree. It’s traveled around the world and back and has only *now* developed a small tear in the canvas (which is being factory-repaired for a ridiculously small fee!). I really can’t write enough about these backpacks — This is probably the ONLY product I’ve purchased that I can UNCONDITIONALLY recommend. They’re inexpensive for their quality, even at this price. Buy one (or two!) now. I anticipate mine outlasting me.” ~Philip
