Original Metrodome Roof Will Now Be Handcrafted Into 5 Types of Limited Edition Bags

Duluth, MN, Oct 15, 2013 – Duluth Pack, the iconic Minnesota manufacturer of traditional bags and outdoor gear, has added 3 new designs to its exclusive “Domer” line of bags. “We introduced the line in August at the Minnesota State Fair using our Sportsman’s Duffel and Shell Bag designs and we sold 95% of our inventory in just 12 days” said Tom Sega, President of Duluth Pack, “this line has quickly become one of the most successful product launches in the company’s 131 year history.” Using the inner layer of the Metrodome roof that collapsed under heavy snow on December 12, 2010, Duluth Pack will also create a Standard Portfolio, a Kit Bag and a Laptop Scoutmaster Backpack.

“The response from the public has been phenomenal,” said Mark Oestreich, Duluth Pack’s CFO, “orders for these bags have been coming in from all over the country.” The decision to extend the line was fueled by Duluth Pack’s loyal customer base.  The designs were chosen based on the input from numerous customers at Duluth Pack’s Canal Park store, State Fair Display and calls to their office.  Sega added “the public spoke and we listened… we are preparing for a very busy holiday season.”

As the Metrodome counts down to its final game, interest in its memorabilia is expected to heighten. The original roof was in use for 29 years and has been credited for some of Minnesota’s most cherished sports memories.   Each bag in the Domer line is trimmed in Duluth Pack’s thick premium leather and will be backed by the company’s lifetime guarantee. Retail prices range from $160.00 to $485.00. Due to the limited amount of fabric, the Domer bags will only be available through Duluth Pack’s retail store in Duluth and online at
